Banter and Brews

I recently attended an event where Massey graduates would came to speak to current Massey students about what it is like working or finding work after university. Most of the graduates were visual communication graduates but there was one person who was a Creative Media Production graduate. He told us lots of useful information and expressed what the industry is looking for when you apply for a job. After the event I went up to him and got to meet him properly; his name is Reuben and he is a 3D artist working at WETA digital. We had a chat about my interests and he gave me a lot of advice about what I should be practicing and working on. At the end of our conversation he gave me his card and told me to email him for more resources and tips. I did end up emailing him the next day and he mentioned he could put me in touch with some visual FX artists to have a chat.

I was not originally planning on going to this event. I heard about it through some friends in the same class as me but I'm very happy I decided to go because I got to know someone who works in the industry and I did some networking!
